TIME FUSE CUTTER
Featuring heavy duty construction, this machine repeatedly cuts and
punches or slits time fuse for cross matching within a couple thousandths of an
inch. Easily clamped or bolted to a workbench, the frame, base and cutting
guide are machined from solid 6061 aluminum and assembled with stainless
hardware. The cutting guide features a stainless lead screw with a hand
dial calibrated in either .010" or 1/128" increments (you choose), a machined
channel to precisely hold the time fuse and a stainless ruler calibrated in
either .010" or 1/64" increments. The cutting guide also features two
bores that prepare the time fuse for two different cross matching options.
One bore is used to precisely slit the time fuse exactly in the center to
a depth of 1/2". The other bore is used to punch the time fuse through the
center 1/4" from the tip. Finally, the cutting guide features a friction
thumb wheel to lock the lead screw in place to ensure accurate repeatability
when cutting multiple pieces of time fuse to the same length. The cutting
mechanism features a 12" long stainless handle with a spring return, a polished
stainless piston riding in a polished brass bushing and stainless rotation pins
for a lifetime of hard work. The cutting piston is machined to accept
common single sided razor blades and ground punch tips that can be easily
replaced by loosening the stainless screws that secure the blade clamping
mechanism. The linear motion produced by the piston design on this machine
completely eliminates any slop and ensures consistent accuracy. The
machine is setup to precisely cut time fuse to a maximum length of 3.875",
though the size can be increased should you have requirements for longer pieces
